Konrad von Gesner (1480-1552) was a Swiss physician and naturalist. His best known work is Magia Naturalis, a book on natural magic by which he attempted to demonstrate that all things are subject to the laws of nature. The book contains a discussion of the properties of plants, minerals, animals and human beings, and an account of various remedies for disease.
